Bernhard Jandl
I am a bioorganic and medicinal chemist with a strong passion for translational research covering the development of molecular diagnostic tools and future medicines. I am a PhD student working in applied biofilm research, focusing on developing peptide-based compounds as molecular probes and therapeutic candidates to study and target mucosal biofilms in patients with gastrointestinal disorders. I am pursuing my PhD project in the Neuropeptide Research Lab of A/Prof Markus Muttenthaler at the Institute of Biological Chemistry at the University of Vienna.
I studied Technical Chemistry at TU Wien, where I specialised in Applied Synthetic Chemistry within the Master's Program. I conducted my master's thesis at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), working on novel nucleoside analogues to diagnose and treat infectious diseases.
