Kazuyasu Sakaguchi
Kazuyasu Sakaguchi received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Kyushu University, Japan. From 1989 to 1999, he worked at National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, USA. He moved to Kyushu University as an Associate Professor in 1999. In 2003, he joined to the Department of Chemistry, Hokkaido University as a full Professor.
His recent research has focused on structure and function of tumor suppressor protein p53, especially the tetramer formation of p53, and function and regulation of PPM phosphatase family including PPM1D. His research interest also includes understanding about the novel polypeptide coded in ribosomal RNA.
He is the president of the Japanese Peptide Society.
